SALSA GORDA
Orquesta el Macabeo - Salsa Macabra (2010)
Puerto Rico old school salsa (salsa gorda) revival orchestra debut album. A combination of Latin rhythms such as guaracha, son and mambo. Mixed with the irreverence attitude of the great salsa performers.
Orquesta el Macabeo is the hottest salsa band from Puerto Rico since the beloved “Salsa Gorda” was silenced in the eighties by the romantic salsa genre. This revival of original salsa came from the least expected place; the underground music scene. Most of the musicians of this Orchestra come from hardcore/punk, ska, reggae and other types of music that are not learned at music
Tracks:
1 Charlatán
2 La noche
3 Macabiónico
4 Se Pone Difícil
5 Swing
6 La Culpa
7 Supermercado

RUBEN BLADES Y SON DEL SOLAR - LIVE! (1990)
Live set in NYC from the Escenas tour. Listen to some of the best salsa ever put to tape and marvel at the fact that Son del Solar didn't have a horn section for this recording, or for most of their studio output.DOWNLOAD
